Clouds Passing Over
Clouds Passing Over
I dream of nights
With burning skies
The song of birds
So full of sighs
About the spirit
That passes from life.
They sing laments
To dying clouds
That slither by
Without a sound
Until it's time
for them to cry
There tears will flow down
From the sky.
Author's Notes:
My girls and i where at Blueberry Park laid on our backs staring at clouds. Aimee was six and asked the question. "Where do people and animals go when they die?" I replied "We turn into clouds and float away". This poem is almost sixteen years old. I wonder if she remembers.

This is as soft as the clouds and simply appropriate answer for a child of six. Very nice penning.
