the howling loneliness

On quiet nights

when the moon

its light

around the trees

your heart

though still beating

is hollowed-out

by a lost love

and you reach

your pockets

but find only marbles

and a piece of lint

there is no remedy

but still

the joy of Nature

sings to you

She sings to you, with tears

in her eyes,

her sweetest lullaby

soothing your

empty soul

settling the waters

of your

jerky little heart

numbing your

to the howling loneliness

aww...this shows another side of you ;-)
I liked the way you wove nature into it and of course the moon..who has seen me for one..through many lonely nights all my life.
I really did tune into this poem.

a lonesome melody...if not for the joy of nature singing her sweet lullaby, where would we be? just thinking softly out my pocket along with a piece of lint...i find tiny scraps of fabric and a pinch of purple glitter....
