Treason of Love
As the world turns,
I watch her everyday.
Sometimes people run away,
to see if someone cares enough to go after them.
Once she ran away,
and immediately I pursued her.
Then I went to her house,
with a dozen roses,
11 real and 1 fake,
I told her I would love her until the last one died.
Her pain set off,
little stabs of my own,
I was like her sun,
and she was like my earth,
I was always pulling her closer to me.
To love her,
was a treason against the country,
but to not love her,
was treason against my heart.
