Victim of Stolen Innocence II
TWO WEEKS HAD PASSED,
SINCE THE HORRIBLE TRAGEDY.
SHE WOULD BARELY SPEAK OF IT,
SHE WAS TOO FRIGHTENED.

SCENES FROM THAT NIGHT,
KEPT INVADING HER MIND,
SHE COULD NOT SHUT IT OUT.
IT LEFT HER SWEATING AT NIGHT,
AND CRYING OUT.
SHE COULD NOT STAND TO BE TOUCHED BY ANYONE,
SHE FELT DISGUSTING,
LIKE THERE WAS SOMETHING FOUL
ON HER SKIN,
SOMETHIN THAT WOULD NOT COME OFF,
NO MATTER HOW MANY TIME SHE WASHED HERSELF.

SHE COULDN'T LOOK AT HERSELF IN THE MIRROR,
SHE DIDN'T LIKE WHAT SHE SAW.
WHEN SHE LOOKED,
SHE WAS COVERED IN WHAT LOOKED LIKE,
CRUDE OIL,
STICKY BLACK THAT WOULD NOT COME OFF,
DARKEST WHERE HE HAD TOUCHED HER,
AND INVADED HER.

SHE COULD NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY ANYMORE.
IN THE DARK OF THE NIGHT,
SHE TOOK A CHAIR AND A ROPE,
SHE MADE A LOOP OVER A BEAM,
AND THEN THE HANGMAN'S NOOSE.
SHE GOT ONTO THE CHAIR,
AND SLIPPED THE ROPE OVER HER HEAD,
AND JUMPED.

A MINUTE OF TWITCHING,
AND THEN HER BODY WAS STILL,
EXCEPT FOR THE RYTHMIC SWING.

SAY SO LONG TO INNOCENCE,
FROM BENEATH THE EVIDENCE.

A very sad conclusion to this girl's story.
