He watches her
She finds food
He protects her
In the hunt.
There is no comfort
In his heart
Sleeping trees
Full of memories
He waits for her
While she dreams softly.
He flies in gifted skies
The sun a welcome friend
Say's she will come
He waits in a different tree
She finds the food
He will always protect her.

I love the metaphor you use here, it is very true, and it fits perfectly. Love so true, is meant to be.  Lovely, I love it.

Thank you

This sounds like love for sure! I once had a friend, who was a airplane pilot. He was to me more than these words could ever write! But this poem, reminded me of his love! I had no choice but to let him go.. Somedays I think of him more than others. I pray He is happy with his new life! Thats all I;ve ever wanted for him was to be truly happy! He deserves that and more! With all my heart! Thank you for sharing this piece!
