My Best Friend
This girl I used to know,
she filled the halls with laughter,
smiles and good cheer.
She was the ray of sun shine,
on a cloudy day,
brightening everyone's mind.

This girl I used to know,
fell in love,
she fell so hard and so deep.
Ne'er could she be without him,
but then one day he left without a trace.
She cried and called for him,
but ne'er did he return.

This girl I used to know,
walks the halls alone,
with a sad look in her eye.
If you looked upon her now,
you'd never tell,
she used to fill the halls with laughter,
smiles and good cheer.

This girl I used to know,
my heart grieved for her.
That girl who now has that haunted look---,
is my best friend.
