Chasing Tumbleweeds
have you ever heard of...
 a message in a bottle?
or a message carried on the wings
of a pure white dove?
well I dont live near the sea
so i will have to
use my imagination
to find my soul mate
on my way to work
i passed through the wild desert
and the tumbleweeds caught my eye
that's it!
i could tie ribbons to the stems of tumbleweeds
 ribbons with printed messages
 clues to my temperment
a symbol of my splendor developed on the peaceful stage
as a space-science pioneer
a pink ribbon with the word Dramatic
a purple; inscribed with Witty
yellow for Clarity
green for Sensitivity
white or silver to suggest...
my Chastened Spirit
no need for excessive ornamentation
 in touch with real emotions
no plastic imitation
so if one day you are out chasing tumbleweeds
and you see one with multi-colored ribbons
flying in the wind
think of me
and give me a call
my number on the blue ribbons
Author's Notes:
thank you Travis for the word bank...these words have inspired me to be silly

Oh, I LOVE this! I think one of the words in the word bank describe this perfectly....WITTY! Your imagination amazes me, how you are able to think up some of the things you write about, like the ribons in this poem attached to a tumbleweed, true delight!

Hey She Whispers,

This is a job well done with the wordbank mister Travis gave to you!  A work which has us think of the meaning 'finding one's soul-mate'
And me being a dreamer, a romantic person, could very much identify while enjoying the delight of a read i had myself!

Greetings: Peter

I think you really did a nice job with this one. I like it very much. Like the idea of a message in a bottle in the desert.
