...Awaken From A Dream
Arise oh Woman,
Quaking from your vivid dream
Adorn your hips with silk petticoats;
the beauty of a fine reputation,
moral courage, and
Like the
Cumulous energy
 of a dashing thundercloud
Gather strength;
Write a song, find a voice,
 Shout it loud!
Ascend oh Woman,
 Arousing from a dream-laden sleep
Heave a deep sigh and mourn the
  decay of true-blue honesty,
 the plague of hostility,
and lost humanity.
Resilient and
 Strong are your achievements
Enhance your heart with loving kindness,
Battenburg lace, and Integrity.
Arise oh Woman,
 Shaken from a fretful slumber!
Span the night that announces the newborn day
Inhale the sweetness of the morning dew
Bear your pains with strength and courage
Slowly giving birth to Insight; Wisdom,
and the Power that resides in you.
Stand up straight and tall my lovely Daughters!
Sail your ship on the fragrant floral breeze
Dip your pan into the rushing waters
Plant your feet on mountain tops.
Stop your crying,
my child of
Oh my Daughters,
Awaken from a wondrous dream!
Embellish your feet with rose petals from my garden,
Fearlessly navigate life's true mysteries;
Ignite with passion the flames of Love
Just like all my children
who have danced
 before you...
Discover, dream and grow...
Through portals, passages and seas unknown.

A wonderful poem.  Especially the line
"Slowly giving birth to Insight; Wisdom, and the Power that resides in you."
Insight and wisdom and power the things I desire the most and doesn't every woman.
I shall remember to awaken from my slumber with a renew focus and energy.  Hear me roar.  Even if I start with whispers under my breath, its a start.

A great uplifting poem.

This is a brillant poem.  It's an inspiration for all of humanity.  Not only can you dish the word bank words out, but you can also put them to good use too!

Gosh, I almost don't where to start. I'm rejoicing all over. If only all mothers, ours included, had the wisdom to so forearm their daughters, what a different world we'd be living in. I have it in my favs already and am sending it this minute to my niece who should have heard it from her mother. What a wonderful thing is a woman and so many, men and women alike, don't seem to recognize that. Well done. ML
