Creativity

what is creativity?
a moment when you look at
the ordinary and see the extra-ordinary
like falling in love with a moment
it puts you in touch with a special energy
called passion
what is your passion?
does it lead you to fresh green fields and fountains
like an appetite of boundless enthusiasm?

have you lost your fire; your fervor?
then put on your rose-colored artistic glasses
it all depends on your perspective
clouds look different when you are flat on your back
you can transform the way you look at life
by changing your perspective
there is more than one right answer
embrace change rather than fear it
find another angle

close-up, zoom, wide angle, and panarama
put yourself in the place of greatest potential
life presents windows of opportunity
be ready, be patient, be open
creativity is a balance of emotion, caring, and intellect
by caring you have the key to open life's flowers
like a melody, a caring voice lights up a face and
illuminates it from within
access your creativity

fall in love with the world and its simple beauty
follow your passion
create a moment when you inspire others to
look at the ordinary and see the extra-ordinary!

Author's Notes:
some of  these thoughts came from a motivational short film that was shown at a recent staff meeting.. It was geared to help us find new ways to problem solve. It inspired me to look at things in the realm of poetry; inspiration, passion, creativity.  To some an image or thought might be ordinary but to the poet it is extra-ordinary!
I was also inspired by Savannah's poem that encouraged us to pick up the pen...and just write...

great poem! I love the way you use the words I love when you said "Creativity is a balance of emotion, caring, and intellect cause that part is so true. Our emotions are the driving force behind poetry. Cause in order for it to happen we have to feel what we write. And have a passion for it. Once again I love this poem. Great work!

A lovely write.  As an artist, writer and musician I am always looking at ways to view the world.  "Embrace change rather than fear it"  says it all.  Fear keeps us all in a self made prison.  Yes, "we must look at the ordinary and see the extraordinary."  It's a work in progress...every day until we leave this earthly ground.  A wonderful positive and passionate write about life.  Thank you, Loretta

This piece followed the theme of "A Helping Hand" very nicely and is a fine example of extending a helping hand. There is a lot to digest in this piece and I appreciate it all. I was pulled into the first stanza which aids us to question why we write. The second stanza talks about perspective and this is something that was recently discussed in my Writers' Group. We were encouraged to do exactly that...physically take a different view...lay down or whatever and see the world a different way. "embrace change rather than fear it"...exactly...for fear can hold us back. If you don't try you won't ever know how successful you could have been. "creativity is a balance of emotion, caring, and intellect
by caring you have the key to open life's flowers"...oh I loved this...so true. As writers we can help one another to open uo too...everyone learns from someone else and writers are no exception. "like a melody, a caring voice lights up a face and

illuminates it from within"...great open mindedness & positivity. This poem provides inspiration to follow our passion...which for most here is wrting. I think you need a bouquet of roses for the delicate way you have presented your message within this poem Well done Linda Jo...whooo hoooo!!!!!!
