Love is....
Over the rocky edge,
With fears left unsaid.
As your weight rests
On a single thread.
Drifting through
Colourful rainbows in view,
Breathless, at the
Touch and hues.
Powerful and impulsive,
Electrified and driven.
Knowing the way,
Forward and sudden.
As the effervescence
Of champagne - a tease,
With the sweetness of
Warming all over,
As touching summer rays,
Falling onto tender skin
Cooled by ocean spray.
Transitioning beyond,
Shadow and darkness,
Into a blinding light,
Of heart-felt gladness.
Author's Notes:

At Margaret's suggestion, Rich chose a topic and drafted the first stanza (in black). Margaret wrote the second (in blue) and we alternated stanzas until we had six. Then we continued to exchange drafts back and forth, refining each other's work and ideas until we came to agreement. We found it enjoyable to work together! Thanks for reading!

Actually, on second thought, all three of you do. So excited at the thought of seeing Maggie that I lost count. Love, ML

Rich & Margaret,

It may be capricious.

 It may even be arbitrary.

It's definitely not frivolous!

Love is a revolving door, it may allow you to exit at anytime, and you can stay going around and around, with different passengers it holds the key to enter.

I could see daffodils,

a smile;

her gentle words

touched me inside.

I opened the barriers

and bared it all,

naked in the valley of love.

My would be assassin

smiled once more,

plundering each beat

of my heart.

eaten alive

taken to the cleaners

hung out to dry.

My love

playing overtime,

drip feeding

the smiling
