The Storm

Right before the storm, I began to write

Wind is strong as leaves are blown by the wind

Strike lightning zig-zags the sky with each strike

Eyes wide as Sasha Cockatiel rolls eyes

Sasha Cockatiel  to me hops Sasha

Gently her bill rubs my cheek, gently

Thunder booms, Sasha sways, louder thunder

Storm's fury weakens, now a smaller storm

Sky goes from angry black to soft blue sky

Warm coffee mug a delight as hands warm

Pens handy on desk, Sasha rolls pens

More cups of  creamy coffee, I need more

Relax with Sasha after the storm, relax

well, my poetry education continues - was previously unfamiliar with this style - but you've created a wonderful scene with your words and recharged my craving for some creamy coffee....

well now this was a great response to the serpintine challenge.  Love the picture you left in my mind with the booming thunderstorm...and of course, the star of the show, Sasha!  She sounds like an adorable pet that provides alot of entertainment.

Great job writing this poem where the first and last words of the lines are the same! Takes some effort doesn't it?
