Only in an Emergency

Break the glass.
Please…
break the glass … today.

Every day … I stand here
alone;
silently,
patiently,
waiting for the glass
to break … to escape.

Escape to where?
Escape
from behind this impounding
glass door.
Please, fashion an emergency
to grant my escape.

Author's Notes:
It’s one of those days when nothing has happened.
It's hell to be a "fire" extinguisher.
Does anyone need
anything?
