Coming Home
Coming home means many things
Not just a place to live
To most its love and harmony
A place where others give
To some it is a state of mind
A haven from the storm
Its solitude and safety
The place where you were born
To others it means heartache
Memories and empty rooms
Facing past and present
Putting ghosts back in their tombs
Which ever way you look at it
No matter where you roam
Your heart will tell you, nows the time
The time for coming home.

Time and reason do take us back home, this is true.  With memories that bring comfort or haunt us. A write many can relate to.

I read this and immediatly relate it to my own personal experiences.  I think that is what poetry is supposed to do for the reader.  Wonderful work and contribution to the topic of the week.

"Facing past and present

Putting ghosts back in their tombs"...these lines stood out to me...we all have a few ghosts that find their way out every now and then. You've covered all the bases here...a little something for everyone to relate to. The bottom line is "home" is a very personal thing...something different to everyone and only your heart knows what it means to you. Nice work Graham!

Graham no matter what I read from you, I know I am in for a very moving and uplifting piece.. Your mastery amazes me as does your way of bringing forth such topics that touch the very depth of the reader..  Fantastic piece and so much truth inside your words.. Loved it!

Sir Graham,
Your so very right  about coming home...
We all have our reasons and some just roam ....

This life we all live each and every day...
Its either filled with loving happiness
or just another dreary endless stay...

But if you have the embrace of love when you  open that door ..
Then you want to get home to enjoy so much more ..
You inspire me.... We need to write together  again....
 Love ~She Whispers

An absolutely awesome take on the topic of the week, Graham! But then, it's exactly what I've come to expect every time I visit your page!

Loved this...To me, home is where the man I love is...and where my children are :o)

Hugs to ya!

Graham:  I really like this, you presented the various reasons for "coming home".   Very well written.
