Universal road
Staring ahead into the future
Trying to shoulder the load
Yet another opportunity
To walk the universal road

Fellow man's lives in tatters
Spurred by corporate greed
Government will aid the criminals
Before helping those who really need

Each year that quickly passes
We spend the time looking ahead
The indigent become invisible
Before being pronounced dead

Yet upon the universal road
Politicos attempt to walk
Their words ring so hollow
As they speak their empty talk

The road is lined with peace and hope
Paved by good intentions
But big business holds the purse strings
Thus requiring divine interventions

With the start of this new year
May governments see the errors of their ways
As we all peer ahead upon the new horizon
And be witness to better days

It seems the priorities of the government are all screwed up. Such a troublesome mess!

Enjoyed this one, Henry...Love the thoughts and emotions you pour into your writes...

I think the American people as a whole are getting tired of the political situations we're facing...Hopefully something will be done about it as elections roll around!

Hugs to ya...
