I am a poet
I am a poet
This is what I do
I bring forth words
Feelings so bare
On thoughts of wonder
Of moments so rare.
Each night I sit
Pen in hand
Thoughts running
Wild, so out of hand
For what to bring,
This I ask?
Do I send forth passion
Of a love that did not last?
Of sorrow and pain, still in reign?
Or of love that is surreal
Like a soft summer breeze
That to taste is heaven
To feel, A tantalizing tease.
For what are memories
If not from a place we spent
Of moments of passion
Moments of  deep regret
Of stardust that lingers
Upon sweet soft kiss
The joy's of romance
Oh such sweet bliss.
All come forward
Like a photo of shots
In my book of memories
My book of words
And lay bare they do
For all to look upon
To wonder and feel
My meaning so real
My truth so fine
To understand the poet
Is to get into ones mind.

I am a poet
This is what I do
I bring forth words
Feelings so bare
On thoughts of wonder
Of moments so rare.

"To become a poet is to get into one's mind" wonderfully acute I think that to be a poet  the poet must get into the mid of the subject if the subject is inanimate than the poet must personify the subject. You my Twin always do so, you become the subject of your write be it a person or a rose, or even a feeling you are indeed a POET!

This is a pleasant unfolding of your spirit regarding the craft of poetry.  To share written thoughts of life experiences and fantasies with others in rhyme as well as you do is a gift :D Nelson
