Kiss me softly

We haved loved a lifetime

In a few short years

With so much happiness

Little room for tears

Weve lived with the good

Suffered through the worst

Through all of it baby

I still wish I had met you first

For you and I my sweet

Share a love divine

My heart is yours

As yours is mine

So kiss me softly

Ill kiss you sweet

Yours is the kind of heart

I'd always dreamed to meet

This is really lovely Henry.  "I still wish I had met you first" is a great line and I think tells a lot about the meaning of this poem.  Bad timing doesn't prevent love though.  Great job on this.  It's wonderful.

Henry this was suburb. It gave me goosebumps and chills, for your words filled my whole being and gently floated inside and I wanted to hold on to them, but alas the just floated away.. What a dream of a piece my friend.. It gave me a flutter it did..

what a delightful find, Henry.  for me, your sweet poem that says so much for the quality of love and gift you have been given.  and for you, finding a lifetime of loving in the arms of  your woman, still wishing you had met her first.  that is a wonderful line and makes the whole poem come alive!...never forget to offer those sweet words. I really admire the sentiment in this piece!

"Through all of it baby

I still wish I had met you first"...powerful lines! I love says so much without saying anything. (that's poet speak) Such simple words of love that are simply divine. Beautiful poem Henry!

When love is like this, Henry, it's destined to be a that will stay with you through thick and thin...through good and bad...forever. It's this kind of love that truly DOES make the world revolve, and it's this kind of love that makes others envious wishing they had it, because this is the type of love that surpasses lust and's a bonding of two hearts, fused tightly together without seams or crevices, perfectly fitting together.
Yeah...long winded comment, I know... (smiles) but you know me...this is me when I'm speechless! (giggles) (be thankful I didn't wax eloquent~! hehe)
Really really loved this one...
Big ole hugs...
