A GOOD DAY GONE BAD.
The warm sun was shining so bright
My heart felt so airy and light

I could only smile and sing
Such happiness this day bring

I was just having such a great day
Then Clerk rained on my parade

Today walking into the store
Like I have several times before

As I walked up to the counter
Right in my hand was a dollar

I carefully picked out my sweets
A fig bar was one of my treats

I was going to stop right there
The dollar I passed to the cashier

Then a Tootsie Roll I did see
A Mary Jane I took for me

"So what is the price of two fish?"
To eat a couple was my wish

Then he said to me "ten cents please"
I pass him the money with ease

I still had ten cents more in change
Buy one more and end the exchange

So now he was looking at me
How come he wanted more money

To me, he said "you did not pay"
Wow, I was in shock and dismay

So, I just could not believe it
I was thinking this is horse shit

He wanted me to give my ten
I started out with eleven

So, I calmly put it all back
Mad, I was thinking fuck you Jack

Angry here I sit in my car
Depressed I cannot travel far

People take advantage of me
Black and red is all I can see

I ask "when will I take a stand?"
So, when will respect I demand?

I really have to let this go
For the answer I will never know.

Author's Notes:
Sometimes the little things like being taken for a dollar can put me over the edge.  I was and am so angry and yet i was so calm and didn't even argue.  I hate myself for it.
