Something real

There is something that is felt

It comes from deep within

A sense of actuality

Where you just know something is real

A knowledge that you could search

Search for several lifetimes

Never find what you have in front of you

Staring you right in the face

Something real

How many opportunities

Does life give you

Before they’re all used up

Before the knocks cease

No, no more wasted moments

They shall not pass

For this man does see

What is before him

Something real

It can be touched

Held, hugged kissed

A keeper of confidences

A friend, lover, listener

Above all, an equal

A fount of knowledge

The matching soul

That has always been elusive

Something real

Yes dear love, it’s you

The one who calms my fears

Holds me when the storms are fierce

Helps me to see and think clearly

The one who lifts my spirits

When life hits hardest

The one who fuels my passion

That makes me know this is

Smething real

Another really lovely poem Henry.  You have a gift for them and it's a lucky woman to have that kind of feeling and emotion given to her.  Some people just can't give themselves to anyone.  You are obviously just the opposite.  Wonderful job!.

Your heart is on the page...and beautiful it is too. I feel your love for her. Wonderful expressions Henry...she is indeed a very fortunate woman.

Beautiful.  It is always best to cherish the love that is given, right before the eyes.  There is more to "real" than is given credit these days, especially with the internet, romantic poetry and the like.

Loved this dear soul.  Excellent. ~Pamela

Wow, Henry...this is outstanding...! One of the best yet!

These lines say so much..

How many opportunities

Does life give you

Before they’re all used up

Before the knocks cease.

A wonderful series of questions...questions that everyone should seriously consider...

TRUE love comes along but once...the heart should listen and heed when it presents itself...

Loved this! The woman that holds your heart is so very lucky...very BLESSED!
