He wants to save her from all the sadness,
that consumes her each day.
The sadness that rises up,
and shoves her down like a wave.
He sees it every day,
that look in her eyes,
the hunch to her shoulders,
that lag in her step,
it brings a lump to his throat.
But there's nothing he can do,
she won't let anyone near her,
always lashing out
like a caged animal.
But that's what she is,
living in a plage that she can't get out of.
It is a living hell,
and she's being tortured each day,
and theres nothing he can do,
because she's a frightened animal,
who doesn't know a kind touch.

Being depressed is like being a caged animal, unable to break free the chains that pull them down and tie them to sadness. Sad and touching poem , wanting to rescue her from her hell.
