Extra Baggage
When you begin a journey
what do your bags contain?
Do you take your raincoat
when there is no chance of rain?
Do you pack your hiking boots
to tour the streets of Rome,
or coats and hats for Florida,
leaving swimming suits at home?

As you travel through this life
take only what you need;
don't carry extra baggage,
such as fear, or hate and greed.
Check your luggage often;
those things that weigh you down
should be abandoned at the station,
so they won't tie you to the ground.
Author's Notes:
Learn the lesson, then let the burden go.

Barbara meet my friend Sheri with the first comment.  She is a wonderful soul that wrote the first poem for me after Carolyn died.

Hah-This is perfect for me. I carry so much more than I need to. In a emotional sense and with actually luggage. I am one who fears of being unprepared for an event causing me to over analyze and over do everything.

Words taken-I will check for excess baggage for now on.

Sheri
