Nature's Child
There are wonders in this world that are dear to my heart;
born in the act of creation of which man could have no part;
such as waves caressing shores, kissing velvet sands,
then returning unto themselves, dripping diamonds from their hands.
And fields as open books of stories never told;
every breeze turning a page, new enchantment to unfold.
And height and width and depth of trees standing score and score abreast;
arms entwined to form a bower of solitude and rest.
Man-made wonders may abound to feel and hear and see;
but my spirit craves the waters, and the meadows, and the trees.
Author's Notes:
I am blessed to live in a place that feeds my soul.

This is a wonderful testament to that place and the reader is taken there by your words and imagery.

Barbara your poem was beautiful.  The images and the message is very light and refreshing. I loved the waves caressing shores, kissing velvet sands and dripping diamonds from their hands.  So lovely.
