It's Getting Hot Out There

“It’s getting hot out there”

I hear it all day long,

a hundred times, I swear.

It’s like an endless song,

until I want to scream,

I hear it all day long.

I don’t want to be mean

or be one to complain,

until I want to scream.

If I need to explain,

try not to criticize,

or be one to complain.

Hiding heartfelt sighs,

I listen till it hurts,

trying to empathize.

“It’s getting hot out there”

I listen till it hurts,

a hundred times, I swear.

Author's Notes:
Living in Arizona, I start hearing this in April and for about 4 months afterwards.  It gets a little tiring.

I firmly believe if not for air conditioning, there would be nobody living in Arizona except the Indian population who traditionally called that blast funace home. Getting hot out there, ain't it??? :o)...len
