Where does the heart go?

Where does the heart go when love has gone?

Does it slowly reside into the depths of despair?

Does it live in past memories never to find new love again?

Does it turn into itself to hate all men?

Where does the heart go?

When autumn steals the warmth it loved in

When trees are bare and it doesn’t seem to care anymore

Whether it beats or never more adores.

Where does the love go when the connection has ended?

Does it float away in a stream of sadness?

Does it explode in a million colours, like a firework, in the sky

Then fizzle out like it was never there?

Where does the heart go?

When autumn steals the warmth it loved in

When trees are bare and it doesn’t seem to care anymore

Whether it beats or never more adores.

Where does the faith go when you’ve loved through the darkness?

Does it leave you a bitter creature eaten up by love?

Does it cripple the innocence that once shone from your face?

Does it leave you without a trace?

Where does the heart go?

When autumn steals the warmth it loved in

When trees are bare and it doesn’t seem to care anymore

Whether it beats or never more adores.
