The Pier
Morgana walks the beach on this sultry July evening
Twilight is shimmery in the heat as night conquers
The pier is dark and shadowy with waves pulsing
 An eerie awareness startles Morgana
Shadowy shapes move around the blackness
Shadowy shapes that are nearly translucent
Shapes seem to shape-shift and glow as they move closer
Morgana grabs her phone and dials:  "Rey, I'm at the pier and
it's dark and I see shadows like we have talked about.  I'm scared."
Shadows move closer as she shivers and waits for an answer from Rey
There is nothing I can do my dear this fear is being created cause of you
The water is an entity empowered by the moon, you are at it's mercy
Simply Stay there Stay strong & try not to be afraid I shall soon be on my way
But you must know that what is scaring you does not wait on my time
It shall attack you at your weak points you must be ready for it in due time
The shadows are always aware & always cold, but you must fear them not
For if they sense you & feel your fear you shall never again awake
You shall fall & drown at the pier for your own survival you must show no fear
For the shadows are stalking you & love the idea of making you disappear
Morgana clips the phone onto her belt and tries to think positive
The shape-shifters glow as they walk under the pier
They smile and murmur her name
She calmly walks toward the paved, lit parking area
Crossing into more light, she feels more positive about herself
Looking out toward the pier again, she notes the dissolving shadows
Turning toward the pathway home, she feels a new strength within herself
She dials Rey's number and says she is on her way to her home
She feels the beginning of a new confidence and awareness

Very nice, m'lady. Just the right amount of hair-raising to accentuate her progress. I wonder, with all her getting, if she's getting the idea that it's not all that wise to visit the pier after dark. Great pic. Well done. Nice Halloween offering. ML

a pier is a special place - on top, you bask in the sunshine, tasting the salt air, feeling the breeze, while underneath you move into shadows cast by dominating piles and a shady overhang.  beautiful and pulse-quickening in the telling

Alone on the beach at night can be a dangerous.  I can feel the fear in your heart very well and using the cell phone was a smart move.

Cool write under "The Pier"...Woohoo....Loved the anxiety that Morgana felt, then her reassurance with calling Rey~!!  Then by the reminder to walk with showing no fear....mission accomplished!!  Your duo imaginations are bringing the site mystery,....intrigue,....chilling suspense, and most of all talent....Thanks for doing that~!
Margaret...the Baglady, walking with confidence......
