Echoes of Silence
Echoes of Silence
Across a stone bridge on a hidden brook Ė
a summerís garden Iíve chosen to roam,
shadows and mist of the evening time hide
the valley of my secret home.
My thoughts in haze rise, deep in the forest,
the moss drapes my dreams to veil the unknown,
shrouded in passion, secret and somber,
you touch me where Iíve never known.
The wishes we share echo in silence
as thoughts of you rise to me from the sea,
though narrow old paths seldom are traveled,
my heart claims youíre walking with me.
It would seem simple for us to find joy Ė
if your steps with mine were heard on the stone,
take my hand now and come to my forest...
I canít make this journey alone.

like a lullabye this is. Very vivid in detail yet soft as love is. The rhyme  is beautiful and I have gotta say I had a smile on my face the whole poem through. You are quite the poet! I really enjoy reading all your poems. I really feel something at the end of each one of your writes.

Romantic and full of longing, the heart searches to find its match. You write with such brilliance Tristan, yet, there is always the hidden soul in your writing that captures us all.

Similar to they style of Alexander Pope.  You would love his version of the Sapphic Ode. *smile*  This is clever and revealing.  Closing stanza seals the deal.  Nicely done. ~Pamela

This is so beautiful! It has longing, love and a realization of love all in one.  You are so right, we can not do this journey alone.
Lovely write
