Super Hero
Misery; the ultimate inspiration.
My last jewel of wisdom before I withdraw into my sanctum.
I hate them, but these shadows have pulled at my anklets for years and years.
That one final push is all it ever takes...
The silence before the whispers,
the hints before the blame,
the toxins before the destination,
and it's over before you can say

Maybe, it will be okay..
And then, it's silent again.

The run of it was wild, unruly, and perhaps, worth the trials
for the few miles I was able to walk as a free woman
unrestrained by the shackles of my own fear
before self-treachery would return to claim my blood..
We all run...we all hide from the things that challenge us
at one point in this life or another.
After all, we are only human,
even if the sickness in our brains creates a far grander fiction.
Who was I kidding to ever claim to follow in in the footsteps of my mother,
someone I hardly even remember.
But we live, we age, we learn, we fade,
we hate, we cry, we love, we die,
we cringe, we sigh, we're cruel, we lie,
we run, we hide, we give up, we try.
And I...am no exception.
I suppose, however, that all of us like to pretend every once in a while
that we are a super hero...
But no one is indestructible ...
so choose your final words carefully..
And the one thing I would like you to remember me for
before I die and leave this world,
are these simple words:
Love is the greatest and worst thing you will ever learn.
