Silence Behind the Tears

Sing quietly my tired tears
this cry is my very last
that calls to me from a frightened heart
behind the looking glass.

Wherein I find myself today
this voice shall cry aloud
and stand before the  sleeping world
singing oh, so very loud.

No longer silent behind the tears
of crying children wrought,
behind a fence of broken hearts
and a freedom dearly sought.

A voice from out the battered box.
        A voice with strong sublime.
A voice to sing the tales of woe.
        A voice to carry time.

I sing the song of freedoms change.
                I sing the tears away.
I sing a key to silent souls.
                I sing a brighter day.
