Silence is Golden.
There's ringing in my ears
There's ringing in my head
Its with me in the morning
And even when in bed!
I keep losing concentration
Which makes me kind of sad
It really is frustrating
I think I'm going mad
They've tested me for tumours
And various other things
But nothing seems to make much sense
And still my head it rings
I'm getting close to crazy
In fact I'm fit to burst
What have I done in this life
To deserve this awful curse.

Author's Notes:
Tinitus diognosed about six months ago, its what they call continuous variety ie 24/7 am now waiting to be fitted with something called "White noise" which will not make it go away but apparrently makes it more bearable to live with. It may be one thing to suffer in silence now I can't even do that, hence my absence from the site of late.

Your medical problems impale you on the horns of a dilemma. No one would wish for deafness unless pummeled by egregious sounds -- unwanted and uninvited.  I understand that research has elected white noise as a promising treatment while more studies are being conducted with medical solutions and other bone implants. I hope one of them gives you relief.  Your gifts of rhyme and humor are personal warrior-traits that will serve you well.  Nice work and good luck. Tristan

Graham, we just want you to get better.  A friend of mine experienced relief from tinitus when he stopped drinking soy milk.  Its a shot in the dark, just a suggestion.  I hope you find the key to your ailment real soon.

Maybe it's your phone.  With all the advice people have given you, I hesitate to add to it.  I am a carpenter and have abused my body for years with noises I should have worn ear plugs for protection against..  Now my body is finally getting even.  The best thing I've taken for ringing in my ears is Zinc.  Tablets of Zinc.  I don't know if it is just me, or if it would help others, but my ringing has just about stopped.  I have no need to take it any more.    Either that, or I'm deaf and don't know it.
Good poem.      Good luck with the ringing. (you sure it's not your phone?)

Well my dear friend....you are not forgotten. I hope the white noise works wonders for you...you certainly haven't lost your gift of rhyme!
We love you and want you to be better soon.

I have heard the "white noise" works well.  Best of luck with this.

Graham,

My hearing's  been tested twice, medically speaking.

I've been told it goes beyond the range of human hearing.

However, I hear clear as a bell.

If your tinitus is from toxc metals within your system setting off the stirrup or inner ear bones

then Pyrodoxamine can remove heavy metals from our system. It's B-6, water soluble.

It goes great with organic carrot juice.  I take it every day with reservatrol.

All the best,

Jamieson
