Ode to the Lime
Ode to the Lime
blossoms; delicately
sweet like maiden's skin so fair
and dream-scented hair upon her pillow.
aroma of love revived,
poured from the tipped bowl
of crescent moon like flowing wine
to awaken and tantalize.
a rare fruit; when ripe is green
and laughs at sugar, honey sweet.
a small porcelain cup of lustful energy
cut open, the pulp a matching green
two halves reveal the mystery
of hummingbird wings, chrysolite,
and her glowing green eyes.
a magic potion of fragrant oil
that gives truth to tongues
and desire to lips;
pouting and pursed
like tropical kissing fish.
come close my dear,
share a slice of love with me.

What a perfect piece of writing.  It is almost biblical.  I am so glad you changed the color of the font -- I was unable to read it when it was lime-color -- my eyes are bad.  I am not familiar with PN, but I'm sure he would be honored to know that you have given him such a tribute! --David

This is a beautiful color poem.  My eyes are not good.  I was unable to read it because I need more contrast. Anyhow, it's a beautiful lime color!  --David

Beautifully written in every sense of the word but would prefer the font in a darker colour, so light it makes it difficult to read and so distracts from the poem itself~Graham.

This is such a delicate poem. It makes me want to lick my lips like I can already tast it. So pure. True delight. Thank you for sharing.

Linda, this is amazing.  Pablo would be so proud.  Your words are so beautiful, sensual and they flow so well...and the green font, I love it.  Now...I want a lime, with some salt on it.

Great writing,
