Impossible Camping

short night, cold feet
from the stories last night
my mind's ground meat

trees rustled, spooks walked
my tent was too small
my body was stalked

dark clouds, too cold the rain
my tent's soaked through
my back's in pain

up early, fire's lit
from stretching too far
my pants have split

cold water, arm pits stink
my screaming loudly
causes others to think

warm fire, sparks fly
with popping raindrops
my eggs still fry

ashes thick, gray soot sticks
smoke follows beauty
my beauty's too thick

eyes burn, fire is out
my day has started
still ...inside I pout

but, I love camping

Author's Notes:
I miss the camping trips, the camaraderie, the short nights, the cold feet, the rain soaked tents pouring icy cold water on my naked back. I miss the sticks stuck to my bare feet, my face full of cobwebs from busy spiders, the charcoal in my eggs, ants in my sleeping bag, the birds bombarding the unlucky souls below, the mighty mosquitoes, and the creepy midnight stories.

Yup .... I really miss the fun "old" times

I have very fond memories of camping and fishing and someday soon I will make an effort to do it again.
