Moments to Live

The dead arise in a living sleep,

for should they awaken
they must repent wasted moments
no longer present.

No longer living.

No longer of a future’s worth,
now, only poorly imagined recollections
of a life  … passed.

Lost experiences to be learned from,
personal ... only to oneself.

Moments that should have been better lived,
not just tolerated.
These were moments … lost to expended time,
never to be found again.

Author's Notes:

Does our id continue on through eternity with our spirit?

Sometimes in eternity it would be better just to start over.

Gene:  I believe the true inner self is forever.  What we learn/earn/etc makes us....
