~~Nighttime~~
When darkness dreamily downs
The dying pink and violet sunsets
I'm alive
The stars gather
in their silver brocade pattern
and I gaze at them
with the naieve wonder of a child

The moon throws down it's cold ethereal light
Creating a reason of mystery
an unfathomable beauty
a liquid chill
like languid water washing over my skin
and I smile

The night is all I know
Which no one understands
Yet when dawn
throws its unforgiving rays of light
over the horizon
I know all too soon
the night is over
Author's Notes:
I have always for some reason or another been a night person...........
I used to work nights.............at the hospital at the hospital for 15yrs.....so guess I just got used to sleeping during the day and was wide awake at nights..........My husband calls me a Vampire
saying I only come alive at night..........I hate early morning appt's with the Dr and always try to get them scheduled at least past noon LOL........sometimes it can't be helped and I have to get up early............Can't say I am particular fond of it but I am getting better......I had an old saying...............
" I am allergic to mornings"
Thank you for the read and comments

Susan,

   Night's veil comforts us.

It surrounds us with another light,

reflective of course.

We can feel the difference.

I like the difference & feelings

that morning & night give us.

I guess it's nature!

All the best

for a festive holiday,

Jamieson

Susan this is perfect. I myself prefer night to day. I've always slept better during the day, so I like to take naps. But I love it when the sun starts its decent and the colors and air change, it brings a new feeling, a new excitement. Great write. You have captured it perfectly!
