mr moonlight
hey there mr. moonlight
shine on my desert campsight
with you we won't need a flashlight
I feel the earth begin its quaking tonight
as we climb  the superstition peaks at midnight
and share the stage with the javalinas in their limelight
stars find  their way  home  in  the  early twilight
a coyote sings his lonely solo,  goodnight
take your time mr. daylight...
Author's Notes:

there is a special moonlight hike to superstition peak every full moon.  it is sponsored and led by the rangers...a bonfire waits at the end of the hike.  hot dogs, marshmallows, and songs to sing around the campfire...

why does the line "have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight" pop into my mind?  actually, it sounds like a ton of fun - thanks for taking us there.

Nice one L.J. I can just picture the scene, I've see a few like that on the bayou only it's water and vegetation that's in the moonlight.

Sounds like a real blast...One of the things I've missed since moving to central Washington from central California are those nights when the moon lights up the landscape, almost like daylight...len
