Many Oils of Love
Can ones voice enslave us like the singing of nightingales
soothing the depressed mind giving us which
the hungry heart craves

Our parched lips that hunger for the sweet fruit
become more fragrant than juicy red strawberrys
and crunchy yummy Autumn apples

Jasmine and roses with dews lavender ascending
and growing until it fills the dawning
face of the lighted horizon

Love unconquered by silent cold darkness
or inextinguishable by the bitter wet wind

The beauty, pray the sweetness of love, is its unpredictability

and flagging certainty. Like the sun and rain, love dazzles in its season

and suspends its coming until we in our hunger crave and plead for its refreshing, soothing drops.

This poem like Janus has two faces. I am inclined to this positive face.
