Day Dreams

(my secret inner universe)

Worlds exist that only I may see.

Infinite in number,
they crowd the limits of my imagination’s might,
lasting only as long as I desire
and end with the instant of my inattention.
No choice.  They cease.
They can not exist without my consenting thought
feeding their creation’s energy.
Where they originate
and where they come to rest
is known to no one.
They exist.
They do not.
The stars,
shinning brightly throughout infinity,
fade into nothingness.
Galaxies, floating on a blackened universe
ignite fireballs, which in turn give life
to once dead, imaginary spheres called worlds;
when finished, they hush
to an unsuspecting nothingness of mindless space.
They do not realize they exist only in thought.
They drain to the blackness of my non-reality.
Or … did they never in fact … exist?
When my thought stops.
They stop.

Author's Notes:

I am a day dreamer.
I can go anywhere I please;  Mars, Pluto, Heaven ...
Anywhere.  Sometimes I take people with me within my poetry
Welcome aboard.

But be aware, when I stop dreaming ... you, cease to exist.
