Who Writes What?

I don’t pick a subject, the subject picks me.
If the text is not right, my mind will not see.
The vision to be seen is on the inside … not out.
When my mind looks about, tiny thoughts must give shout.
My words give a picture to the reading mind.
Its perception of the words is a literary find.
Recognition must be seen through reading the words.
Are they black letters on paper, or snowbound black birds?
What do you see when the rainbow’s over head?
Have the clouds turned to blood, or is the fog really red?
Is there a gurgling brook, or the happy giggling girl?
Is it a pig's crooked tail, or is it a dog's tail that is curled?
When your mind looks about, tiny subjects must shout.
The visions to be seen are on the inside … not out.
If my text is not right, your mind will not see.
I don’t pick any subject ... the subjects pick me.

Author's Notes:

Many times I have no choice.
My poem is just ... born.
The sex ... readers decide for themselves.
