These eyes have seen

What these eyes have seen

A kaliediscope of colors

Even though unable to tell

What those colors actually are

Eyes that have seen the look of love

That comes from the prettiest face

The most giving of hearts

The warmest of touches

These eyes have seen tears roll down

In times of great sorrow

When the storms roiled peaceful waters

To the point where the sun would hide forever

These eyes have seen children grow

Into mature, responsible adults

That would make any parent proud

For they are a parent's legacy

These eyes have seen enough to know

That nothing lasts forever

Life will go on when time expires

Peacefully, serenely moving on

These eyes will rest knowing

They were blessed with the insight

Grateful for all they were privledged to see

During the wonderful ride through life

"When the storms roiled peaceful waters

To the point where the sun would hide forever"...really loved these lines.

This is such a lovely poem Henry....I enjoy the humbleness and appreciation written into each verse.

May I say that many people SEE but few are blessed with insight. I love when I bear witness to it.

Well done my friend.

LOL apparently these eyes DIDN'T see that I had my cursor on the "post" button!

THESE eyes have seen an amazing write of retrospect and wisdom...

Isn't it amazing how much we actually witness in the short span of life???

Great work on this, Henry...

Hugs!
