Proud parents
The once little bird has flown away
To feather her own nest, her way
Mother bird watched as she left the nest
Wondering if she had done her best
Papa bird softly touched her wing
He knew it was on her own she had to sing
Parental birds watched with tears in their eyes
As off to another nest their little one flies
Two proud birds know they've more to do
In their nest little ones still number two
But they will guide them with a steady hand
About life and it's pitfalls the fledgelings will understand

When that time comes and they've an empty nest
They will know that they've done their best
As each of their little birds sing out loud
Mother and Papa bird will be so proud

I find it so very hard to believe that it's been 4 years...YEARS...already! Time has literally flown. We haven't gotten to see her yet other than on Skype...but at least it's getting to SEE her, even if we can't touch.

I was roaming through the dedications category and happened on this beauty.

It is really lovely Henry. I don't have children of my own but this made my heart

ache for Glata and her husband when they sent their child off to the other side of the world.

Beautiful write.

Linda

Once again you write with such a wonderful expression of words to give her the courage to let her go to another side of the world...

We love our children and hate to let them go out on their own...Great poem as always.....

Thank you, Henry...Letting her leave was probably one of the harder things I'll ever have to do, but guess that when the time comes to let them go, we don't have a choice. They need to be free, and we need to feel we've done our best. I know she will do great, and Oli is a wonderful young man, and he loves her as much as she loves him.

As soon as we adjust to the thoughts of her being literally half a world away I think we'll do okay :)

Thanks again! This is so sweet of you!

Hugs...

Glata
