Brave Knight 4
Young Guenevere was maid to Katharine.
That damsel worshiped Marcus more than life.
It pained her so to see him go between
the other knights as bold to face the strife.
Her mind was sliced with vision's sharpest knife:
him slain on plane away from castle keep.
If happened, she would never be his wife;
there couldn't be another moment's sleep.
Scenario brought ache, the pain was very deep.

Stephanus Marcus reined his courser straight
secreting rose from sight beneath fur cape.
With heel the charger he did goad from wait
and entered moving line that he must ape.
Now over mane of steed head low did drape,
and smile most painful showed much care on face.
Quick wave of free hand gave a sorry scape,
his try at leaving bravely showed no trace
for melancholy spirit sealed his pain in place.

Author's Notes:
Guenevere is the great love of the Brave Knights' life, Stephanus Marcus. She is also maid to Katharine, Duke Morley's daughter who is engaged to Prince James, brother to King Lawrence, King of England, first called the Lion Heart. Duke Saint Charles is another powerful Liege of the kingdom who is at odds with Duke Morley. Duke Morley is Stephanus Marcus' Liege, whom  the knight has sworn to lay down his life to protect from any danger.
