Dishes And Wishes

Dishes  And  Wishes

Have you ever done a thing, which
Wouldn’t have done it, you wished!

Have you ever said a thing, which
Wouldn’t have said it, you wished!

Have you ever met someone, whom
Wouldn’t have met her/him, you wished!

Have you ever kissed someone, whom
Wouldn’t look at her/his lips, you wished!

Have you ever slept with someone, whom
Wouldn’t touch her/his skin, you wished!

Having done
Having said
Having met
Having kissed -- and
Which one, can you guess? – and boy
Do I regret?

The answer is
A simple NO

Moments of time -- and
All were mine,
And hers

Why be silly and regret?
When can simply forget!
Ever met
All set
Wrapped in velvet
Got wet!
And performed octet.

Do you think --
I paid my debt -- and
What about your debt!
Can we now duet?

This is  M A R V E L O U S !  It seems to make for a kind of comforting;  all of us do things we later wish we hadn't done:  but all of those things had purposes -- reasons...  but me, I'm like Dirk, I forgot all those things regretful things...  nah, I'm David -- I remember each and every darn one of 'em -- and then some:(  Great poem, Dean.  Goes beyond!  -- Dave

I love this for its language and complexity which make it a thing of great beauty -- it is almost three separate poems yet also one.  My congratulations on bedazzling and befuddling me so!!  Loved this
