My Heart Turns To Stone

My Heart Turns To Stone

I sit in the dark room again;

Light please I feel confined

Would someone just remove this pain;

So deep yet ill-defined

It centres not on my own life;

But yours - - I think my love.

I think of our shared pain our strife

When you were here my dove.

And like the dove you have your wings;

Whilst I remain alone

Eternity for you now sings

Whilst my heart turns to stone.

Perhaps only my allowing your heart to be turned to stone can it -- by nature -- revolve into earth -- fertile earth -- where new love might grow; no -- the other will not disappear, but there will be room for new greens.  Gorgeous and pure poetry.  --David
