Last Kiss And Embrace

Last Kiss And Embrace

Hallowed be Thy name O Lord above

And revered for Thy kindness.

I wouldst ask a favour for my love

And one I hope Thou wouldst bless.

Let me share a last kiss and embrace;

She who holds my heart and soul.

I wouldst look and remember that face

The memory to keep me whole.

I am speechless. You have written an incredibly tender and romantic piece.

Absolutely stunning.  So much said in so few lines!  I guess when poems are very emotional I hide from them by looking at the form and the technique -- as I did here.  But even tho' I (unconsciously) try, I can't help but feel the pathos of this prayer...  --David

That is the reason for living each day with the one you love as it is your last.  A sad poem.

I don't ever want a last kiss.  I'd rather the person stay.  Alas though.  You're asking the correct person with your request.  Only He knows whether you should get your kiss or not
