The Knights And The Blight - Part Two

The Knights And The Blight Part Two

'Flash-Lance the plan is now afoot

Castle Al is rampant with blight;

My demands to Knights have been put

They do not have the means to fight.'

'Scamp you do us proud I condone

Everything you've done has been right;

We've thrown to the Knights a bone

Now to see whether they do bite.'

'And in the meantime with your men

Strike while the castle is weakest;

Attack enough it will open

Fortune now favours the bravest.'

And while the two did talk and plan

There sat and heard one Holy Man;

Friar Gene had stayed behind that night

Hiding close to the warming fire;

Be there not near him any light

One could only but him admire;

A crack behind him it was John

Sent to find Gene on Len's orders;

Gene told John of what here had gone

And John wanted back to borders;

Dave must know of this alliance

But Gene wanted to know of blight;

He decided to stay enhance

His knowledge would stay out of sight;

John agreed and made his way out

He slipped away without a shout;

'So tell me Scamp about this blight

Your power is rare and fine a thing;

I've searched this land all day and night

For something to defeat the King.'

'I learned of it gone several years

From lands far-East and wizards there;

They place upon the people fears

For money gleaned without a care;

As far they know I have a cure

But know they not I cursed them all;

To them I'm white and all so pure

But I would see them plunge and fall.'

With this heard Gene now slipped away

He would not let Scamp have his day.

Well thanks to Friar Gene, the kingdom yet thrives.  Okay -- now what:  Dare  I DARE you to: make a general list of the usual courtly company, i.e. a dramatis personae so to speak...  and: dost the kingdom not have a NAME?  Forsooth! --Sir Dave, Lord Chamberlain
