Change is Always Better than being Rearranged

I saw the pain in your eyes again today like it was still yesterday.
With a heart clutching a knight's shield for protection from today.

So I retrieved tears for ink to expressed hope while falling apart.
But reveal graphic symbols from a broken and unbelieving heart.

So I slowly removed the armor plating from around your heart.
A passionate move against your will to grant a brand new start.

The heavy casting was molded by a past crafted with fears.
Let the weight of it all be history for the rest of your years.

If it remains in sight the emptiness will return with previous tears.
For you were eliminated in a children's game called musical chairs.

For love can't win with fingers crossed spinning a roulette wheel.
Don't gamble away your love and let go so the heart can be healed.

For you’re an angel in need of air to spread your wings.
Let me be the one to cut loose of all the negative strings.

For when you’re in denial everyone but you still can't see.
The heavy chains around your heart need to be broken free.

All cheaters will continue to change the rules while they play you.
Don't forget to retrieve the heart's pass key as you break through.

For I just pour out my soul to you like hot molten wax.
Take it now to fill in all of your broken heart's cracks.

For the melting pot was left alone to burn out the fire.
Let the balm of healing change out your formal attire.

Look down at your thick skin that's not easily swayed.
Read the lines slowly to close down that penny arcade.

I see a great transformation finally coming your way.
In the morning light open the gift of a brand new day.

A poem that tells of beautiful care and love.  You have captured the essence of human-ness here.  I expect no less.  --David

Optimistic and thoughtful work, breaking down those barriers that we all set up in our attempts not to hurt again. A very insightful (is that a word?) poem.
