The Knights And The Games

The Knights And The Games

At last the games did come around

With Knights and Squires from all the land;

This year 'twas held on Royal ground

Which made proceedings all more grand;

Our Knights did shine in many sports

With reputations on the line;

Came rivals now of different sorts

Their sportsmanship did them define;

In fencing there was only one

Our Kym so lithe and swift of blade;

As she was watched by Len and son

She rose atop of all who bade;

In wrestling and with horsemanship

Did Len our champion show his art;

He grappled all did toss and flip

And looked a champion from the start;

The marathon was such a race

Endurance strength and fortitude;

Sir John did set such fast a pace

That victory for him ensued;

Sir David was an archer true

His bow arm strong so accurate;

Rivals came but then did they rue

For David's aim was far too straight;

Fairest Linda great of heart

Was to a dive as birds to flight;

Her beauteous lines made sport an art

It simply was a regal sight;

And all the while the spectacle

Was witnessed by the King and Queen;

Glued to their chairs like barnacle

It was the closest they had been;

No fights or quests just wholesome joy

Was felt by all attendees there;

And even those in full employ

Did spend the time to stop and stare;

The sun sets now on Castle Al

The peace and laughter settles in;

Contentment rules the court royale

Harmony now without within.
