Self-induced Isolation

Glutton for punishment

I know thatís what I be

replaying what happened

between you and me

You claim I have a heart of stone

for my tears arenít on display

misunderstandings abound

through all we do and say

Shadows sway upon the wall

ghosts of memories now dust

my soul but a captive there

held silent by demons of mistrust

Again Iíll don my shroud

hold my despair in reservation

Ďtil Iím hidden from the world

in a self-induced isolation

A cold wind shuts many's doors

oh' there's no trust no trust at all

Darkness consumes your goal

grow the love, let love sow

Ps: it can be all good

U, know U, know

I great slice of humanity here, Niece...Self-isolation can be a good thing after a break-up. Like any woulded animal, we need time to lick our wounds before we ventre ot into places that might do harm to a still-wounded creature....Unca Len

I especially love the last stanza--something I do way too much.

Part of this relates to me now, with what's been going on. Terrific piece usual!

A resignation to the enigma of human relationship.  Beautifully wrought telling of the personal prison.  Terribly honest.  --David
