The Sixties -- TOTW

The Sixties TOTW

They were such happy vibrant times

The years when peace and love were made;

Or so we think but there were signs

Of discontent in this decade;

For me a youth so ignorant

Of wars abroad or civil strife;

But there were things I can recant

Of troubles deep in urban life;

The Bay of Pigs and J.F.K.

Vietnam and civil unrest;

But all I thought of was to play

The Sixties were for me the best;

Now looking back at history

I was so lucky to be free.

I met Susan in 1968.  I was seventeen.  We were hippies.  It was a time.  --David

I have read a lot about it, the music was great, the fashion was risky, movements started and voices got heard.
Very well put together. It was a more innocent time really.

I wasn't around then, but I vividly remember the stories and all the turmoil in the world. Good job, Al.
