Beauteous Sunset

Beauteous Sunset

Beauteous sunset orange hills and peaceful meadow

The warm breeze brings with it the sound of evening bird-song;

The cattle graze peacefully with the odd loud bellow

Rabbits run and jump and by the railway-line all throng;

Into this idyllic scene we enter arm-in-arm

A loving couple at peace and both silent in thought;

I recall the first time I walked you home to the farm

It took forever in the rain and chills we both caught;

That roaring fire in the sitting room where we both dried

Ourselves our clothes but both of us dared to stay undressed;

Throwing our arms around each other bodies entwined

And how we then made love and great passion was expressed;

How I remember I catch your waist and pull you tight

The sun almost set with you does make a perfect sight.
