ode to brown
brown flannel sheets so warm and comforting
the UPS that delivers my gift package
eyes that sing a romantic song
bears, twigs, and a sparrow.
brown leather fringe on flirty cowgirl skirts
the donkey that listens with both ears
coffee that wakes me with a kiss
frogs, pods, and a cotton tail.
brown glitter softly dusted on butterfly wings
the warm soil that cradles my flowers
suntanned skin; bronze and taut
chestnuts, deer, and a pony.

To look at the present, an UPS delivery.

To envision a future with pods & cottontails.

And, then, to call upon the past with a donkey that listens with both ears

is more than an ode.

It's a lady's way of saying, "thank you for paying attention"!

All the best,

One of the nature's beauty and comes in different shades, and each shade has different flavour, and I could taste many of those flavours in this beautiful poem. Enjoyed it, ~Dean

I always viewed brown as a rather dull and uninteresting color until now.

Thanks for changing my opinion with this wonderful write.
