Shooting Star
In the back of your mind
you know it's her not me,
she's your grand adventure
the place you need to be.
This woman of your waking world
she caught your thoughts from the start,
and now slowly, ever so slowly
she has captured your heart.
Don't deny it, for I know it's true
it's in your voice when you say her name,
look in the mirror, at your eyes
if they could speak would sound the same.
My one and only regret is this
we will never know how far
that together you and I
could ride this shooting star.

sad but convincing...that old tells the truth, always.  you are brave and rather objective over a very emotional situation.  hats off to you for being strong...and wow! your poetry comes across strong as well.

Beautiful and sad.  I guess that's part of what love poetry is.  Hope it's not 'true.'  Love, David

Very poignant and tender. A wonderful piece, Kym, you write with your heart, like very few can or will.

A lot of longing and sadness in this poem. The feeling is carried over to the reader very well.
Well written piece

Lovely words Kymberly -- a fine piece of writing --

Love is a tender friend even as it slowly unravels the fabric of our souls.

You step right into the heart of the mater with your first line yet rather then express anger or jealousy, the easy path, you travel with truth and the sadness of loss.

A brave endeavor
